Tell us about yourself…By day I am a banker but my passion is beading. I'm a life-long crafter, thanks to some very talented Grandmothers. I've been married to my very supportive husband for 18 years and we have 2 fur-babies.
How and when did your business get started? I started my business when I created WAY more jewelry than I could ever give as gifts to my family. The next logical step seemed to be to sell what I was so passionate about making. I've been selling my work for about 8 years.
What is your favorite product in your shop? Tell us how you came up with it. My current favorite piece is a necklace that is made with a faucet handle and vintage earring as the pendant. I just loved the way the two items came together.
Where do you find your inspiration and creativity? Inspiration comes from so many different sources. Sometimes, it's a color combination or a painting that will spark an idea. I've even been inspired by the pure accident of laying an item on my often cluttered work surface and it lands next to just the right thing to set me on the path to creating something new.
What are your favorite things about being a vendor in a handmade market? The chance to meet new people- both vendors and customers. The energy level at a show is always so great. There's just something in the air- I always have such a great time!
Give us 5 fun facts about you and/or your business 1) The name Bert & Petunia is from the nicknames my hubby and I call each other. 2) I always name my car-currently driving Lucy. 3) My children are my cats-Myrtle & Olivia. 4) I got new knees this year (2016) & I feel like a new woman! 5) My family thinks I'm a good kind of crazy!
