Tell us about yourself: I am the mother of 1 a very girly toddler and wife to a very supportive husband. I have been a graphic designer for over 10 years now being able to share my love of design with others has been adventurous and joyous. When I’m not working we are traveling as a family or enjoying a Disney movie marathon with Mila.
How and when did your business get started? Mila & Me started a little over 2 years ago when I was busting at the seems pregnant with my daughter. I got the idea to print a cute shirt that expressed how I felt about being pregnant. Decided to post it on Instagram and from there a local boutique asked where I got the shirt. The rest is a blur, I found myself making shirts for the boutique and thought hmmmm maybe I should pursue this on the side?!
What is your favorite product in your shop? Tell us how you came up with it. My favorite tee will always be the Indiana Mama tee. It best represents my pride as a mother and a Indiana local. I wanted to make something that moms and moms to be could connect with. It turned into a great way for moms to be to announce the big news to their family and friends. We later branched out to Indiana Baby and Indiana Dad shirts that have been used in many announcements and family photos.
Where do you find your inspiration and creativity? I find my inspiration and through my family, friend and customers. Going straight to the source has also helped out so much. Sometimes I will be in the car and hear a great lyric or read a quote that sparks an idea along the way.
What are your favorite things about being a vendor in a handmade market? The customers! I love love love when women come up to my booth and say “omg I love your tee’s we have almost all of them”. Nothing is more rewarding than that. As long as I can continue making them happy I am in a great spot.
