Tell us about yourself…As a wife and mama of two little ones, I love to sew, especially products for children. I learned to sew as a child and receiving handmade gifts from family and friends have always held a dear place in my heart. I strive to forward on that feeling of love and emotion when my customers gift my handmade products to people in their lives.
How and when did your business get started? My business started in January 2016, when I left two handmade toddler aprons on the porch of another mother's home along with a handwritten thank you note for her having blessed our family during a difficult season of life. The beauty of the story is that we had never even met in person. She shared the aprons (and our story) online to her friends and I suddenly had an overwhelming pile of apron orders. After a few months of fulfilling orders, I decided to legally file my sewing business and have been busy with it ever since. My business literally was created out of a moment of kindness from a stranger and grew as I repaid her with another act of kindness. Love truly does make the world go round.
What is your favorite product in your shop? Tell us how you came up with it. My favorite product is definitely the reversible aprons. These are made for children size 2t up to adult size, for boys and girls. There's something so special about children helping their parents in the kitchen, around the house, or even in the garden. And having something special to wear during those moments makes the memories even more sweet. It's important to teach our kids at an early age how to be hands on and the apron encourages that.
Where do you find your inspiration and creativity? I'm a practical gal so I'm always looking for ways to make life as a mama or daddy easier while making the child's life more fun. My frozen popsicle holders are a great example of this.
What are your favorite things about being a vendor in a handmade market? I have a passion for creating handmade items, so I'm excited to see and support other vendors who share this passion. It's an event full of stories about why and how vendors started their personal business and that's so fun to hear!
Give us 5 fun facts about you and/or your business…I'm from Indiana but recently lived in Texas for 7 years and now use the words "y'all" and "fixin" regularly. I'm a stay-at-home mama and usually sew during naptime and after the kiddos are in bed at night. Unsweet tea with a lemon slice is my favorite drink ever. I drink it almost everyday. My Little Arrows name comes from Psalm 127:3-5 The best pair of scissors I own are my only pair of fabric scissors. They belonged to my grandmother, who would have been 101 years old this year.
