Tell us about yourself: My name is Nancy Moore. I live in Plainfield Indiana with my husband, three small boys, two kitties, and the dog. I left a nursing career to stay home with our kiddos, and now sew on the side during naps and late nights. I play piano at City View Church where my husband leads worship, and I also teach piano lessons.
How and when did your business get started? About six months ago, my husband was working a lot of late nights on the computer, so I decided I would sew some items to sell so that I would have something productive to do too. This lead to my husband building me a website, and searching for local craft shows.
What is your favorite product in your shop? Tell us how you came up with it. My favorite product is the chapstick keychain because I am addicted to chapstick, and now I always know where it is! Since using this product I have not washed a tube of chapstick, which has saved a lot of clothes! Someone at my husband's work asked if I could make something to hold chapstick, and I fiddled with it until I got it right.
Where do you find your inspiration and creativity? I love fun colors and patterns, and a trip alone to the fabric store is inspiration enough for me! I also love late night sewing, when the house is quiet and I can get my creative juices flowing.
What are your favorite things about being a vendor in a handmade market? I love seeing all the great products from other vendors! With everything being handmade, there is so much creativity to be seen and inspired by.
